Devin Booker Gets 100% Real on What Phoenix Suns Must Do After Game 1 Loss vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Even with an All-Star trio forming the Phoenix Suns’ core, the team still lost to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs. As a result, Devin Booker got real on what they need to do to win the series.

In that particular game, the Timberwolves took the 120-95 win over Phoenix. Edwards showed why he’s one of the best young players in the NBA today by dropping 33 points on 58 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Karl-Anthony Towns made 19 points and seven rebounds, while Rudy Gobert contributed 14 points and 16 rebounds in 37 minutes.

The Suns, on the other hand, saw Kevin Durant post 31 points by connecting 11 of 17 attempts from the field. Devin Booker spent 37 minutes on the floor and tallied 18 points, while Bradley Beal added 15 points and six assists.

Phoenix must now win one game at the Target Center if they want to advance to the next round. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are one step closer to winning the series, establishing the franchise’ best playoff run in decades.

Devin Booker Points Out What Phoenix Suns Must Do After Game 1 Loss to Minnesota Timberwolves

After the game, All-Star guard Devin Booker spoke to the media about his experience playing Minnesota in the first round. In a video posted by Duane Rankin on X:

Minnesota’s lineup includes Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid, players that provide physical intensity to the Timberwolves. With these guys handling the defense, Edwards and Towns are able to get buckets on the other end of the court.

This kind of lineup has proven to be a problem for the Suns, especially when facing the Timberwolves’ defense. Hopefully, Booker and the Suns can figure out how to get past them in the first round to advance.
