Bye Week and some time off
PRICER...PRICER...PRICER. Just thought I'd start this off with the Habs big shootout win over the Tamba Bay Lightning. Hope you are all well, let's get caught up.
Staying sharp over the break by playing basement 3 on 3 lax on our ski vacation (see picture attached). Celebrating my lovely wife's birthday, St. Paddy's Day and Brooklyn's first day on the slopes all in one. Sure am enjoying the time off and making the best of it. In the last two days, I have seen my daughter ski and skate on her own...talk about pride!
The team has been staying fit over our 2 week layoff with practice and rigorous workouts. Even though the break is quite long we're chomping at the bit to get to Calgary for a first place battle with the Roughnecks. The landscape in the NLL has changed over the past 2 weeks and first place overall will come down to big games down the stretch. Calgary and Buffalo are playing well and are breathing down our necks. As I've said all year long, the parity in the NLL this year is unlike anything I've ever seen.
In the NHL, it has been great to watch the battles down the stretch. My Habs are hanging in there and gaining ground as we speak. All the injuries considered, the boys are playing really well and my confidence in Carey Price grows with every win. The kid has moxy, and as a goaltender that is what you need for success! Are they the best team in the NHL...No. That being said, as a fan they are making me extremely proud. Keep up the good work.
Spring is upon us and of course with that comes the MLB season. The Tigers are playing good Grapefruit ball and have me excited for a great summer. They can hit and with some luck, they can pitch. Should be a team to reckon with come October. Here is to hoping. If you are an MLB prognosticator, please tell me how our chances really are.
I've been told the ESPN special on the Fab Five was really great. If you have seen it, please pass along a review for me. When it comes to Canada I will be watching it for sure. I can't remember a team having such a cultural impact since the Oakland Raiders in the 80's. Jalen, Chris, Juan and the boys really had an impact on me and the way I am to this day. I am looking forward to seeing this piece.
Had a chance to see the Green Day musical, "American Idiot" live in New York a month ago. If there is a better entertainer than Billie Joe Armstrong right now, I haven't heard of him. This guy is so gifted, he had the house rocking even as a broadway star!
I'll leave you Rock fans with a good piece of news. Our game on the 1st against the defending champs, Washington Stealth has been moved from TSN 2, to TSN. This is big news for laxers in Canada and will be a good chance for the game to have some mainstream success. Be sure to tell everyone to tune in and make this game a huge television success.
T'ill we meet again, cheers.
